Commitment to Basic Services (Minimum Standards)
- ◆ At least 25 litres of safe drinking water, free, per person per day.
- ◆ 50 kWh of electricity, free, per indigent household per month.
- ◆ Regular refuse collection to all areas, with recycling and waste-reduction programmes.
- ◆ High-speed internet connectivity and public Wi-Fi in public facilities across the municipality.
- ◆ Adequate housing and protection from arbitrary eviction.

WATER:
Ensure that clean and safe water is available every day.
TOILETS:
Remove the buckets and provide proper sanitation facilities.
CLEANLINESS:
Waste must be collected regularly and consistently.
ROADS:
Roads must be repaired and maintained.
LOCAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT:
Preference for jobs and business opportunities for locals first.
RESPONSIBLE USE OF PUBLIC FUNDS:
Public money must be used responsibly and for projects that
benefit the community.
CORRUPTION:
Down with corruption. All matters must be handled lawfully and
transparently.
CRIME AND VIOLENCE:
Effective anti-crime measures must be implemented.
ELECTRICITY:
Makana must be lit and have reliable electricity.

Improve access to education and develop sports opportunities for

All houses must be in proper and suitable condition.
